Welcome to the Chattering Squirrel Coffee Cafe & Drive Thru.

My late husband, Jake and I purchased the Chattering Squirrel in 2008 with 2 young daughters who grew up in the business. They'd come with us everyday before and after school until they were old enough to help. Our oldest daughter, Hannah, was stuck to her dad's hip and learned the coffee line, while our youngest daughter, Grace, loved the kitchen and helping me cook and bake.

In 2016, my late husband, Jake was diagnosed with Non Hodgkins Lymphoma. After chemo and a stem cell transplant failed, he changed his whole diet, eating clean organic foods and juices and his cancer quickly shrank. In 2020, he got strep throat which quickly turned to Sepsis. He passed away just 14 days later. Jake left a huge void in this family and community. He was the "front of the house guy" and everyone who met Jake thought they were his favorite. He gave the best smiles and hugs. Our 2 daughters and myself continued his legacy as well as our other businesses in town.

15 months later, Steve came into our lives and helped move the coffee shop to this location. He remodeled the buildings on the property and they are now a 1 and 2 bedroom airbnb. Steve is also to thank for all the new landscaping, drive thru, and the beautiful interior and loft space. The book on the coffee table inside show his labor of love for myself, my 2 daughters and this coffee shop We were married and share 4 sons and 2 daughters.
